It is truly astonishing what Sony Santa Monica accomplished on the incredibly dated hardware of the PS3 back in 2010. Killing ever major Greek God was as satisfying as it was disturbing. From the beginning of the game you saw what sort of ride you were in store for and there wasn't a dull moment. God of War 3 Spectacle, spectacle, spectacle. They don't live up to previous entries by having us fight a bunch of reskinned enemies but every other aspect of the game lived up to expections. The gameplay and exploration are addicting and had me struggling to put the controller down. The snippets of wisdom and knowledge he gives to Atreus has shown what he has learned over the years and gives Kratos some great character development. Norse mythology is an amazing setting and we got to see Kratos's human side more so than his raging side in this game. God of War 4 As soon as I saw the gameplay I was on board with the new direction of the series. Looking at you games "journalists" shots fired Either they have short memories or they never even played the games. I don't understand why people always thought Kratos was 1 dimensional. Funnily enough this game starts and ends with Kratos attempting to kill himself. We truly didn't agree with all the mass murdering he was doing (poor boat captain) but it was understandable and Kratos was someone we could get behind. We got to see the beginning of our favorite antihero and his motivation for killing all the gods in later games. God of War 1 The one that started it all :) I feel this game stuck to the Greek tragedy story the most effectively. Whoever collected the most flags wins.Hey all! First Reddit post here! Figured since the latest game in the series has been out for a while now and has had time to marinate with us, how would you rank the series from best to worst? Never played Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta, and Ascension because of the mixed opinion of those and not having a PSP but here's my personal list excluding those: The team that kills him gains an extra 1000 points.įree for all, whoever gets the most kills wins.Ī classic multiplayer mode, teams steal the other team's flag and bring it back to their bases. A chained cyclope named Polyphemus will interfere when players come too close, it can be attacked when the Spear of Olympus falls from the heavens. Points are earned for killing warriors of the other team and conquering platforms or opening chests, whoever reaches 8000 points first wins the match. Two teams try to reach a target amount of points for victory. Gain their Favor to master new abilities, magic, armor, and unique weapons as you rise to become the favored Champion and Legend of Olympus. You will start as a lowly warrior who pledges himself to a god and compete to bring glory and honor to Zeus, Ares, Poseidon, or Hades. Teams consists of Spartans or Trojans and players can align themselves with one the gods. God of War Ascension features multiplayer for up to 8 players. Now we can load up the game environment and the character’s model and rig, and show a rough solve of the actor’s own performance in real time between takes. On the first God of War, we might have been able to show the actors concept art, and possibly a playblast of animation that was in progress. They can watch emotions play out on each other’s faces and respond appropriately. They see how far apart they are from each other physically. Delivery, timing, and efforts all come more naturally because the actors are able to play off of each other. The really exciting part of “vo-mocap” is that it gives our voice actors an opportunity to work together in a scene. To do this, we incorporated voice over motion capture, or “vo-mocap”, into our cinematic pipeline. Our aim in this installment of Kratos’ story is to try and show a bit more of his humanity. He’s been lied to, chained up, run through, tortured, and cast into the depths of Hades several times. He’s killed - either accidentally or intentionally - everyone he’s ever cared about. With everything that’s happened to him over the years, he has every right to be.
